Many people suffer from discomfort because their pillow is not comfortable, which prevents them from enjoying a good and restful sleep.


Sleeping on the wrong pillow can increase neck and shoulder pain, cause numbness in the hands at times, and even lead to snoring.


To help you avoid this pain and discomfort, and to assist you in choosing the best pillow for sleep, here are the most important things to consider when buying a pillow:


Choose a pillow that suits your preferred sleeping position: If you sleep on your back, your pillow should be of medium thickness, so that your head is neither too high nor level with the mattress. If your preferred sleeping position is on your stomach, you can choose a thin pillow, or even sleep without one, so that your head aligns properly with your spine. However, in this position, it is recommended to place a pillow under your stomach to avoid back pain. If you prefer sleeping on your side, you need a pillow that supports your head and fills the gap between your ear and shoulder, meaning the pillow should be firmer.


If you change positions frequently during the night, you should choose a medium-thickness pillow that is slightly soft to accommodate all sleeping positions.

Feather Pillow: Recommended by most specialists. You can adjust the filling to support your neck in the best way for your sleeping position, in addition to the softness it provides.


Foam Pillow: Supports the head appropriately, and is available in various shapes, making it easier to choose the most suitable one for your sleeping position.
